Twero Innovation Academy was founded in 2025 by a team who understood the profound power of education from personal experience. One of our founders grew up as an orphan in Uganda and knows firsthand the immense challenges that poverty places on a child’s dream. It was only through the life-changing support of a sponsor that he was able to get an education and break the cycle.
This experience ignited a deep-seated mission: to give other young people the same chance he had. Paired with a co-founder who fell in love with the spirit and potential of Uganda during volunteer service, they built a new kind of organization, one that goes beyond just paying school fees to build resilient, innovative, and ethical leaders.

Our unique approach is a holistic, long-term investment in young people, designed not just to support but to transform. It begins with The Start Up, providing high school sponsorship and a transformative Gap Year program that ignites potential by equipping students with skills, confidence, and vision.
But our commitment continues with The Stretch Out, where graduates launch careers, build ventures, and become community leaders. They extend their impact by returning as mentors and changemakers, creating a self-sustaining cycle of empowerment that grows with each generation.
